  • Why Refresh is better than posting a duplicate property?

    As we have observed from our experience from Sulit, to OLX, and now with OnePropertee.com, many sellers have a tendency to post duplicate properties. Somehow, there is this existing belief that by posting duplicate listings, a seller will get a higher chance of getting leads. This might be true on other platforms but this post will explain why this action is detrimental to your properties posted here on OnePropertee.com.

    Why is posting a duplicate property bad for you?

    1. OnePropertee can automatically identify similar properties and our system will automatically remove duplicates from our results. We are doing this because one of the first things that make buyers leave a platform is duplicate listings.

    2. A big part of the leads that we are getting is coming from organic Google searches. And ranking in Google search results can provide your property with a lot of targeted leads. Similar to OnePropertee, Google can identify duplicate pages and will penalize your duplicate properties. When this happens, your properties will not rank high in Google search results and you will lose a lot of potential buyers.

    3. OnePropertee displays a notice that a property is in demand when the property gets a certain number of leads. Duplicate properties will divide the leads that you will get which can mean that no property will display this notice. Our notice that a property is in demand increases the number of leads inquiring directly about the property by 90%.

    4. When posting a property, you use your daily posting limit. When you post a duplicate property, OnePropertee will disregard it (see #1) and Google can penalize your property pages (see #2). Therefore, you wasted your daily posting limit while at the same time, it has a detrimental effect on the overall standing of your original property page

    5. Since we announced previously that properties no longer expire on OnePropertee, we have started treating properties as Property Pages (similar to a Facebook Page). We also added a feature that allows buyers to subscribe to your Property Pages and you can send updates to them automatically. Having multiple pages for the same property will make it very difficult for you to manage your subscribers

    What alternatives do I have?
    The best alternative that you have is the use of REFRESH. The Refresh feature has a lot of benefits:

    1. Refresh is a lot easier. With just a couple of clicks, you are done with refreshing your property.

    2. Refresh allows you to retain your URL, views, and inquiries. The age of the page is a big factor in ranking in Google Search and keeping one property page active for a long time can help in your search ranking (without penalty of duplication)

    3. Refresh moves your property to the top of our listings. When buyers search for properties, your property can be among the first on the results displayed which has a higher probability of converting searches to leads. The first page of our search results is also being crawled by Google regularly and can help your property in the ranking with Google

    Now that properties here on OnePropertee have no expiration, there is a temptation for sellers to post duplicate properties. You must avoid doing this as this will be very detrimental to your success here at OnePropertee. Always use Refresh and start converting leads to closed deals.
