Heaven on earth: UK magazine hails Palawan as ‘most desirable island’ in the world

A London-based travel magazine named Palawan as the most beautiful island getaway in the world.

The island province in Luzon came out on top of Wanderlust Travel Magazine’s list of “most desirable islands” all over the world, citing its picture perfect view and serene vibe.

“The scenery here is heaven on earth with sparkling waters and white sand beaches. One of the most photographed sites is Kayangan, a dazzling freshwater lake with spectacular rock formations above and below the surface,” the magazine said.

“Elsewhere on the island you can explore one of the world’s longest underground rivers, enjoy a spot of twitching, or fuel up with some delicious cuisine in the island’s capital of Puerto Princesa,” it added.

Following Palawan on the list are: Tobago Island of Trinidad and Tobago, and Viti Levu in Fiji. Bali, Indonesia ranked ninth on the list.
